Laura Emmer
Laura has been a licensed Cosmetologist since 1975. Raised in Southern California, she moved to Clark Fork in 1993 and feels so blessed to be living in God’s country since.
She opened A Shear Inspiration Hair Styling in 1998 as a one-chair salon hoping to be able to make a living in this rural area. Of course that happened and two remodels later is excited to have a Salon & Day Spa with a full staff of friendly, competent stylists that are passionate about the beauty industry and continuing education.
From a variety of acclaimed institutions, Laura is certified in color, color correction, keratin, amino acid & botanical smoothing treatments, advanced haircutting & styling. In 2015, she became a licensed Cosmetology Instructor.
Laura is married and when she is not at work, loves hanging out with her best friend and husband Jeff. Together they are involved with the local youth center & their church, plus enjoy a variety of area sports.

Carmen Printz
Carmen moved back to the Clark Fork area in 2007. She has always enjoyed and has a natural flair for fashion, makeup and hair styling. This combined with her being a real people-person, gave her lifelong desire to be a Cosmetologist. Carmen apprenticed under Laura and has been a licensed Cosmetologist since in 2018.
Carmen has three children of her own and dozens of of others that call her "Mom".

Dawn Bristol
Dawn, a Licensed Cosmetologist, graduated with honors from Toni & Guy Hair Academy in 2020. Before completing cosmetology school, she has always enjoyed helping people feel and look their best providing fashion and hair & makeup tips. Dawn has been interested in the hairdressing world over the years, and decided in 2019 to change her career path, and took the leap and enrolled herself in cosmetology school.

Prior to joining the ASI Team, Dawn has worked for over 20 years in the corporate world in Marketing & Advertising, and in the Retail Operations departments with a focus on the customer experience.

Dawn and her husband, Chad have lived in the Clark Fork area since 1994, and have raised their two children here. She enjoys living in the small town-community, meeting new people and helping her clients look and feel beautiful.

Peggy Schempp
Peggy, a Licensed Cosmetologist, graduated from Golden West College cosmetology program in 1992. She was drawn to pursue her education in cosmetology out of her love of working with her hands. Peggy has been a self-employed stylist for 25 years and has gained a variety of cut, color, perm, weave and keratin treatment experience from working in three different salons in Southern California. She enjoys using that experience to help clients achieve their desired look.
Peggy has vacationed in Clark Fork for decades and fell in love with Northern Idaho with the dream of eventually moving here. She likes spending time with her friends, family, outdoor sports and the beauty of nature.
Aesthetician

Hailey Bristol
Hailey, a Licensed Aesthetician, graduated from Studio Beauty School in 2020. Hailey enjoys helping her clients look and feel rejuvenated.

Hailey born and raised here, is a native to the area. She enjoys being in the beautiful outdoors, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and hunting.
Cosmetology Apprentice

Brooke Hanson
Brooke, born in Alaska and raised in Clark Fork, Idaho, recently graduated from Clark Fork High School. Some of you may know her as she had the opportunity to job shadow at A Shear Inspiration during her senior year. Well we fell in love with her and she fell in love with the beauty industry. Upon graduating with the Clark Fork Class of 2022, she started apprenticing with Laura with the goal of becoming a fully licensed cosmetologist. Brooke's desire is to help her clients' meet their beauty goals. When Brooke is not at the salon, she is often off enjoying hiking, fishing, camping, gardening, or anything outdoorsy.
Support Team

Sherry Wold
Sherry joined the ASI team in 2020. From appointment scheduling to inventory management to cleaning, she uses her past experience as a church school secretary, small business owner and longtime homeschooling mother to keep the salon in working order. Sherry and her husband of nearly 40 years, Kris, moved to Clark Fork from North Dakota in 1991. They have four children and nine grandchildren. Sherry loves to knit, crochet, quilt, read, play games, go boating, and spend time with her family.
